Sally Cameron,
1961 - 1996 | |

| | Sally's
last year at Keele University was overshadowed by the diagnosis of a severe illness,
but she graduated in 1983. Moving to London, she worked as a nursing auxiliary
until her illness forced her to retire. It was then that she started writing short
stories, also creating and tending a community garden which won a European-wide
competition as an oasis in the midst of the squalor of London's East End, and
taking up (informally) the position of housing co-op 'counsellor-in-residence'.
Sally's sudden death on 10 June 1996 was devastating to her family, her many close
friends and all who knew and loved her. | | | | | | |
